Paris Hilton or just a bad imitation of Britney Spears? What would you do for a clothing budget if you only made minimum wage and had to pay all your own bills. You should be so lucky. Jealous of you, no, only apalled that someone could be that shallow because they have to be the best-dressed trendy person in their office. " .
20 years on the air for `48 Hours'
This past Saturday's episode, "Who Killed the Beauty Queen?," tried to solve the murder of a former Miss Arkansas contestant bludgeoned to death in her apartment in 2005. The show's mystery lineup is necessary to stay alive while competing against entertainment programs, Zirinsky said. No newsmagazine not named "60 Minutes" entices viewers now on the promise of learning something new - just like fewer people read newspapers for the unexpected, she said. People want to know what they're getting. That's one factor in the demise of TV newsmagazines, she said. "So much news is consumed in an individual way," she said. "To get somebody's attention, to get them to commit to you, you have to be unique." When not shooting crime stories, the "48 Hours" team has evolved into CBS News utility players, springing into action when big stories deserve more attention.

Had the bidding not reached the reserve price, the FCC could have scrapped the C block auction and tried again without the open access condition that required the winner to connect all devices and applications. Thai PM outlines plans in his first weekly talk show
BANGKOK, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's newly elected Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said Sunday in his first weekly talk show through state TV and radio that he believed he can govern the state to a good future. The talk show, named "Samak Talk", was the first of its kind since his six-party coalition government took office Thursday. Samak disclosed in the program that the Cabinet at its weekly meeting next Tuesday will discuss two important issues, namely the foreign capital reserve requirement policy and the draft government policy. After the 2006 coup, the Bank of Thailand issued a 30 percent foreign capital reserve requirement policy, which has caused a lot of controversies, especially among foreign investors who thought it an obstacle while investing in Thailand.
Jeff Thelen's Blog
After hearing the exchange, the group behind us (all adults) actually made several comments about the movie during the movie. (I found them all pretty funny) But the gentleman in front of me didn't say another word. So, here's my question to you. Is it rude to talk and laugh and make comments at a theater, before the film begins during the trailers? Or is it rude to ask someone to hush up in a theater before the movie begins? I know some people really like the previews, so may be we were out of line. On the other hand, I sort of felt like he jumped the gun telling us to be quiet before the movie ever began. I'm sort of lost here, does anyone know proper theater etiquette? J Respond to Jeff's blog here: UPDATE ON 1/30/08Hi everybody and thanks for all the responses! There are so many I can't answer them all, except the ones that need to be directly addressed.
MWSF: Macworld Best of Show 2008
It's a great update for a much-loved product. MacBook Air, from Apple: In the history of Apple announcements, this was one of the least surprising: Pretty much everyone in the room at Steve Jobs's Expo keynote was expecting a thin notebook. But they probably weren't expecting this: The MacBook Air is almost frighteningly skinny. And yet it really is a full-fledged Mac, with a 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and reasonable quantities of RAM, hard drive, keyboard, and screen. Sure, you have to give up an optical drive, Ethernet, FireWire, stereo speakers, and a few other amenities. But tell that to the hundreds of Mac users who crowded the Apple booth at Expo, balancing their MacBook Air daintily on their fingertips, and beaming widely. Guitar Hero III, from Aspyr: This game lets you live out your rock star fantasies as you "play" guitar or bass along with your favorite rock songs.
