3 Men Become Heroes In St. Landry Parish
A dramatic rescue Thursday, in St. Landry Parish, when a vehicle, with four people inside, plunged into the water. Three men went from bystander to hero, in a matter of seconds. Around 3:30 Thursday afternoon a truck drove off the highway and into the Bayou Teche. That's when the trio of men, all driving by at the time of the crash, jumped in.

Fill the metal pitcher 3/5 of the way full with milk, or to the base of the pour spout.Place thermometer securely inside of the pitcher. Steam milk to 145ºF. The temperature will raise an additional 5 degrees as it sits. If you prefer hotter drinks, that's fine, but you will scorch it above 155ºF. (be sure your thermometer is calibrated!)The steam wand should be inserted diagonally just below the surface of the milk. This will create froth or foam necessary for a good latte.When frothing make sure you are creating rotational flow in the steam pitcher and once the temperature of the milk is about 100ºF or just warm to the touch, raise the steam pitcher to cease frothing and continue to heat to above temp. Tamp the ground espresso into the portafilter with roughly 40 lbs of pressure and lock it into the group head on the espresso machine.

James Brown's Possessions To Be Auctioned To Pay Off Taxes
James Brown's possessions will be appraised and auctioned, in part to pay taxes his estate owes, court-appointed trustees said Wednesday.
Attorney Adele Pope would not say exactly what items would be auctioned or how much they were worth. She also refused to say after a hearing how much the estate owed.
Brown died in Atlanta in December 2006, throwing into turmoil the future of his trust, which might include music rights and his 60-acre Beech Island home in western South Carolina.

Jeremy Affeldt has hitters swinging and missing his change-up. If Affeldt can re-master the changeup, he'll probably be in the rotation. Last year with Colorado, he pitched exclusively out of the bullpen and relied on his two best pitches - fastball and curve. Two pitches are not enough for a starter. Affeldt making the rotation does two things for the Reds: Gives them a lefty and lessens the pressure on the young pitchers. ... Ryan Freel (above) runs like Ryan Freel. Freel is coming off knee surgery - the second on his right knee. Freel's game largely depends on speed, so he has to show he still has that speed to be effective.

According to our most favoritest informants, the HEROIC revival of the awesomely cheesy American Gladiators features HEROIC Real Live Alumna Jaime Reed '01 kicking ass and taking names as the be-scrunchied gladiatrix, “Fury." The Gladiators, incidentally, are a clear sign that the '80s are the number one decade for dancing around in your underwear. Risky Business, anyone? Reed's scrunchie in particular, and the show's revival in general, make us hope that the '80s have, at long last, jumped the shark, paving the way — in our darkest fantasies — for the HEROIC return of Power Rangers, Oval Office oral, and flannel.
