Cutting emissions from vehicles will require many solutions
Denver Metro area residents and possibly all residents of Colorado will be facing some tough times in the near future as our air quality fell below federally acceptable levels too many times last summer and lawmakers are considering the adoption of California emissions restrictions on vehicles. Despite better quality fuels, the emissions inspection program, and ever improving emission control devices on vehicles, Denver's air quality has slipped. These restrictions, if imposed, will raise the cost of vehicles, reduce the number of vehicles available for purchase, and do nothing to encourage other options that could help reduce the ozone levels in the summer. What is the solution? Well that has to come from many sources and there are options that don't increase vehicle costs or reduce vehicle ownership choices.

A widower (Steve Carrell) discovers the woman (Juliette Binoche) he's falling in love with is dating his brother. Collierville Towne 16. Enchanted (PG, 107 min.) Amy Adams ("Junebug") is Giselle, a naive Disney princess ejected from her fairy-tale cartoon world into the flesh-and-blood chaos of Manhattan in this charming, clever and upbeat family film, directed by Kevin Lima and scripted by Bill Kelly. Never insulting as it moves toward its inevitable happily-ever-after ending, the movie maintains a delicate balance between wish-fulfillment fantasy and a recognition that the real world inhabited by its audience is filled with disappointment as well as with joy. With Patrick Dempsey as the divorce lawyer who becomes Giselle's New York Prince Charming; Susan Sarandon as a wicked witch; and Rachel Covey as a 6-year-old stand-in for the young girls in the audience: She sees Giselle as a dream big sister come to life.
New Cars: Saturn Aura, BMW 3 Series Coupe and More
Since all its body panels are metal, it hits the street with narrower gaps and sexier lines than earlier, plastic-body Saturn models. There are two Auras, the base XE and our choice, the XR, with its 252-hp 3.6-liter V6 and six-speed automatic. However, there are a few hints that Saturn may still be a half step away from the majors. While the interior is done well, some rock-hard surfaces and the lack of grab handles prove annoying with the miles. — DON CHAIKIN .
UN Envoy Vists Darfur Rebel Heartland
Among those skeptical of peace talks was Elnur's elderly father. "Tell my son we are proud of him, that he must continue the fight because we are dying," Mohamed Ahmed Elnur told The Associated Press. Peace negotiations were launched by Eliasson in October, but broke off just after opening in Libya because of the absence of major rebel chiefs. Abdulwahid Elnur, who lives in exile in Paris, is the founder of the Sudan Liberation Army. He yields little military power, but enjoys widespread following among his tribe, the Fur, which is Darfur's largest and gave the region its name. .
Reliever Williamson agrees to minor league deal with Giants
SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Giants agreed to terms on a minor league deal with reliever Scott Williamson on Sunday and invited him to spring training. Williamson, the 1999 NL Rookie of the Year who turns 32 next Sunday, is scheduled to report to the team's spring training complex in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Wednesday with pitchers and catchers. The right-hander could bolster an already deep bullpen. Williamson spent his first four-plus seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and has also pitched for Boston, the Chicago Cubs, San Diego and then Baltimore last season. He went 1-0 with a 4.40 ERA in 16 outings in 2007, missing time early in the season while on the disabled list with tightness in his throwing arm. .

Mitt Romney Campaign Postmortem
The collapse of Mitt Romney's bid for the presidency brings the inevitable question: What went wrong? Michael Luo gives a pretty good explanation. If Mr. Romney's campaign were condensed to one of his trademark PowerPoint presentations, it would have had all the bullet points foretelling success: a multimillionaire candidate willing to relinquish his fortune to run, an unsettled Republican field and a candidate whose championing of conservative positions could motivate the party's base. Yet Mr. Romney's advisers acknowledged Thursday an array of tactical missteps and miscalculations. Perhaps most significantly, they conceded that they had failed to overcome doubts about Mr. Romney's authenticity as they sought to position him as the most electable conservative in the race, a jarring contrast to his more moderate record as governor of Massachusetts.
